President Kathy Tuckey and the members of Augusta West Rotary Club extend all good wishes to David Thorsson as he leaves Augusta to return to his native Sweden. We’ll miss you, David!

David Thorsson arrived on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Augusta Regional Airport. David was welcomed by members of Augusta West and our Assistant District Governor, Pam Lightsey of Augusta South Rotary Club. An official September welcoming reception is being planned. Stay tuned for more details.

David, 23, is from Valbo,Sweden. He will be 24 on Dec. 26. He is interested in studying American Literature, philosophy, and psychology. He has spent a year working and traveling in Australia. His hobbies are reading, socializing with friends, traveling, working out, ice hockey, and soccer. He’s a psychology student at Sweden’s Uppsala University. David was born in St. Joseph, Mich., while his dad – an executive with a Swedish steel company – was assigned to the company’s U.S. operation. David learned about GRSP through his mother, a travel agent in Valbo with U.S.-based Carlson Wagonlit travel . David’s family returned from Michigan to Sweden when he was 3, so he doesn’t remember much about living in America. David has an older sister, 27, who lives in Brussels, Belgium, and a younger brother who is 16.
