Welcome to the Augusta West Rotary Club, a network of community volunteers. We are a member of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.

Our club is among the most active civic organizations in the Augusta metropolitan area, with projects and programs that benefit the youth, the elderly and people with disabilities. We meet Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. at The Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall at 402 Aumond Road.


2008-Vocational Service Award - Fred Daitch

Vocational Service Award: vocational-service-award.JPGFred Daitch, owner of International Uniform Inc. in downtown Augusta, was presented with the inaugural Vocational Service Award by committee chairman Frank Barbee and President Bob. The award recognizes a businessperson for outstanding service to the community and serving as an inspiration to others in the achievement of vocational excellence. Fred is the fourth generation family business owner who was forced to close his Daitch & Co. apparel business in 1998 because of competitive pressures from large retailers such as Wal-Mart. He revitalized the company as International Uniform by expanding into a niche uniform business specializing in caddy coveralls for golf courses and golf tournaments. Each year his business donates thousands of dollars worth of uniforms and golf memorabilia to non-profit agencies and relief organizations. In addition, Fred serves as a director on several nonprofit boards. He said he was truly humbled to recieve the award during his acceptance speech.
